Hello. I just ordered the X55 and want to be sure it will power my 5TB external Seagate drive, which is USB-powered only. Thank you!

hi
We tested up to 2TB for normal operation, but due to insufficient USB port power, the 5TB hard drive may not work properly.
best regards

2.5" portable Seagate 5 TB back up plus external hard drives work but if plugging in more than one things become buggy, probably due to power drain

I am using X45 Premium, I installed a 2TB internal 2.5", 9.5mm HDD, two 5TB external HDD (both are seagate)
The machine still working, but power consumption rise from around 4W to 13W.
Not sure it will shorten the life time of the machine:P

tested a few days, the two external 2.5inch seagate 5TB HDDs run normally, if idle in desktop, the power consumption is around 9W, including an internal 2.5" 2TB seagate HDD
