No 5 GHz wifi, only 100 Mbit/s ethernet

I bought a Beelink BT7 from geekbuying.com because it was advertised with 1 Gbit/s ethernet and 5 GHz wifi. Unfortunately neither of these seem to be true. I tried to update the drivers from the cd-rom but windows claims the newest drivers are already installed.


Wifi does not have any 5 GHz channel properties in device manager. Windows does not see any 5 GHz access points. Either the drivers are for a 2.4 GHz model only, or the wifi card itself is 2.4 GHz only.


Network defaults to 100 Mbit/s in all conditions. Using the same port in my router, same cable as with my pc (which does 1 Gbit/s), Beelink BT7 will never use 1 Gbit/s speed, only 100 Mbit/s (confirmed from both Windows and router's info page). Either the drivers are for a 100 Mbit/s model only, or the network card is 100 only.


Please show exact steps how to solve these issues, or did you just lie about the tech specs.
I am very disappointed because I would not ever have bought this product had I known it does not have gigabit ethernet or 5g wifi. :(
Without these the product is not nearly worth the $218 it sells for.

  Replace the bcm943341wlagb.txt file inside the C:/windows/System32/drivers with the bcm943341wlagb.txt file in the nvram-xx folder

Good thread.

I also have this problem with wifi 5ghz.

I live in the Uk so used the above download and EU file and it still didn't enable 5ghz.

Used the US file and now 5ghz works fine.

Hint for easy changes:
Disable Broadcom wifi in Device Manager then copy over the correct file as described in above post and then enable Broadcom wifi in device manager.
If the file for your country doesn't work try one of the others.

I've tried all the Countries to get the 5.0 working in Australia and no of the file replacements have worked.

Can we confirm that the 5G works in Australia?

Hi,
I too did not see my 5GHz WLAN, 2.4 GHz did work. When I changed the country code from EU to US suddenly i could see my 5GHz WLAN but 2.4GHz was missing.
So in fact 5GHz does work, turns out it has to do with the used channels in your router.
In the EU, to use 5GHz channels 52 and above the device has to look out for weather radar and if detected must not use these channels. Cheap implementations (as it seems with the Z83II) simply forbid these channels and use only 40 to 50.
In the US that seems to be different, as i was able to see my WLAN with the Z83II set to US country code. My 2.4GHz WLAN was missing because the US use only channels 1 to 11, my WLAN was set to channel 13.
So if you use the US setting in the EU you lose channel 12 and 13 (2.4GHz) and it's on your own risk as you may get in conflict with the law. "Störerhaftung" in german.
